How to install and use Project / Visio (2016/2019/2021) without product key

The majority of Microsoft software products have a 30-days trial in order to let the user try them for free. This allow users to see the value of the product and if they have been happy with it, they might consider paying for a license. However, spending hundreds of dollars is a big problem for people having very low incomes, particularly in some of the poorest regions. If you are students or teachers and your school is part of the program, you will have a chance to use most Microsoft products at no cost. And if you are not a beneficiary of this program, using KMS method is a perfect solution you can consider.

In today’s post, I will go into detail on how to download and use Project, Visio (2021, 2019 and 2016) without product key. First of all, you can download the latest version here if you dont have it already. Because it is stored as an ISO file so once your download completes, you have to extract it. Then just run the setup file to begin installing like you normally would.

After successful installation, you will get be enrolled in a 30 day free monthly trial. When the trial ends, the most important features will be disabled and you have to purchase a license key to continue using the service.

Activate MS Project for FREE with KMS key

Step 1.1: Open location of the Project/Visio installed on your PC.
If you install it in the ProgramFiles folder, the path will be “%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16” or “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16”. It depends on the architecture of the Windows OS you are using. If you are not sure of this issue, don’t worry, just run both of the commands above. One of them will be not executed and an error message will be printed on the screen.

Step 1.2: Convert your retail license to volume one.
This step is required. You can not install the KMS client product key of Project/Visio without a volume license.

Step 1.3: Activate your Project/Visio using KMS client key
Make sure your PC is connected to the internet, then run the following command. Do not forget to replace THE_CLIENT_KEY with the KMS client key of your product.

If you see the error 0xC004F074, it means that your internet connection is unstable or the server is busy. Please make sure your device is online and try the command “act” again until you succeed.

  6. Hi, I tried activating the MS Office and Win 10 and the method perfectly. Thanks for it.
    However, I am unable to activate the Visio 2019 using the same method.
    Note: Followed all the step by step guide but the product is not getting activated.

    1. This post provide both office 2016 & office 2019 Project and Visio activation method.

      Make sure you use right Visio 2019 batch file with admin ID right activate online.

      If still fail. Top click in Community

  14. Can i use this method with my paid subscription of O365? The problem is that i have paid for O365 from work, but doesn’t have Visio. If i use the above method, will my computer get confused with calling two different KMS? Thanks.

    1. 1 , Upgrade Office 365 to Office 2016 or Office 2019. It become Office 365 base Office 2016 or Office 2019. It sitll can upgrade to future version of Office.

      2, then Install Office 2016 or Office 2019 Project and Visio, use the above method to activated.

      3, Done.

    1. The only reason is you got more than a copy visio and project pro 2019 in your PC.

      Just keep one copy , uninstall all need to activate visio and project pro 2019 from your PC.
