Install and activate Office 2019 for FREE legally using Volume license
After a series of preview versions, Microsoft finally came out with an official version of Office 2019. It is the stable one, this means you can download and use it right now without worrying about fatal errors which you have gotten in beta versions before. However, I regret to inform that according to the disclosures, Microsoft Office 2019 only works on Windows 10 or later. So if you are using Windows 8, 8.1 or older versions, you will not be able to install it. Honestly I hate what Microsoft have done to force users to use Windows 10. In my opinion, Office 2016 is still a good choice for casual users at the moment.
How to download Office 2019 from Microsoft homepage
If you have an Office 365 subscription, your Office will be upgraded to the latest version automatically without doing anything. However, if you are using Office 2016 or earlier versions, to make sure that Office 2019 will work normally, please uninstall your old version of Office completely before starting a new installation. If you do not have Office 2019 already, just go here to get official download link from Microsoft homepage and select the version you want.
Installing Office 2019 without a product key
After the download process is complete, you will get an img file. Just open it then run the setup file to install Office 2019 on your PC.
This may take a while, please wait.
Upon successful installation, you can open any Office program to verify some basic information.
Just skip the “enter product key” window by clicking close button at the top right corner.
And as you can see, I am using Office Professional Plus 2019 and the trial license will expire in 7 days.
Activating Office 2019 using KMS license key
Method 1: Running commands one by one manually
Step 1.1: Open command prompt in administrator mode.
First, you need to open command prompt with admin rights, then follow the instruction below step by step. Just copy/paste the commands and do not forget to hit Enter in order to execute them.
Step 1.2: Open location of the Office installed on your PC.
cd /d %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16
cd /d %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16If you install your Office in the ProgramFiles folder, the path will be “%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16” or “%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16”. It depends on the architecture of the Windows OS you are using. If you are not sure of this issue, don’t worry, just run both of the commands above. One of them will be not executed and an error message will be printed on the screen.
Step 1.3: Convert your retail license to volume one.

Step 1.4: Activate your Office using KMS client key.
Make sure your PC is connected to the internet, then run the following command.

If you see the error 0xC004F074, it means that your internet connection is unstable or the server is busy. Please make sure your device is online and try the command “act” again until you succeed.

I sincerely appreciate your efforts to publish this trick however all of these methods are not working. For the first method, this is the result that I got — CScript Error: Windows Script Host access is disabled on this machine. Contact your administrator for details.
To enable or disable Windows Script Host, type regedit.exe in Run box and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor. In the right panel, you will see Enabled. If you see the entry 0, it means that the Windows Script Host access is disabled on your Windows machine. Double Click on it and give it Value Data 1 to enable it

Can u please describe how to do that in registry editor, because in the registry editor I can only find these 3 sections at the right panel — NAME TYPE DATA
And what am seeing at the left panel is COMPUTER, and When I expand it, I am seeing all these beneath it — HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_USERS, HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG.
And when HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG is expanded, I can find SOFTWARE, and SYSTEM under it.

I have downloaded the office 2019 Pro ISO and trying to install. However, nothing happens when I click on Setup.exe. Even if I run as administrator, nothing happened. I tried to run setup64.exe, the office logo says we are getting things ready. However, shortly after it says Microsoft Office has stopped working and close the program. Am I doing something wrong or is there some setting on my computer that I need to change in order to make this work. Thank you very much!!

I finally found the solution and maybe usefull for other people having the error like me and try lot of tricks like sfc/scannow, reinstall Windows 10 on a new pc without activating to see where is the problem.
My error is this one
ERROR CODE: 0x4004F040 (for information purposes only as the status is licensed)
ERROR DESCRIPTION: The Software Licensing Service reported that the product was activated but the owner should verify the Product Use Rights.
I try sfc/scannow, try to switch 5 different kms server, unreg and register the key. cleanup office before reinstall and restart computer with the official tool. download the last iso from kwong on Community.
Nothing work my last command are this
net stop sppsvc
this command say not start ok now start the service
net start sppsvc
and after that do your activation, oh nice dude it’s working

Based on my research, If the ‘License Status’ value in the Ospp..vbs output is LICENSED, then your Office license is correctly established and this error (0x4004F040) can safely be ignored.

Hi, so it looks like this method isn’t working anymore, I’ve tried both options and the last step of method 1 throws this error:

ERROR DESCRIPTION: The Software Licensing Service reported that the license is not installed.
Plus, I’ve downloaded Office ProPlus 2019 from the link here. What can I do?
1. Start your computer and log on as an administrator.
2. Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.
3. Select the most recent system restore point from the “On this list, click a restore point” list, and then click Next.
4. Click Next on the confirmation window.
5. Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.
ERROR CODE: 0xC004F017 is windows 10 error, fix the problem first before retry activation.

No, I meant that it has some preset software in here from the manufacturer. I’m not talking about the W10 license, I’m talking about the Office which I’ve installed from the link here. I did the same thing on my (now broken) laptop from the same manufacturer and the 2nd method worked perfectly (after Microsoft’s update). I don’t want to reinstall Windows and remove the stuff… is it possible to do it without doing that?

As far as I can see it’s a desktop background, a custom bootup screen and manufacturer info in the about system section of Windows settings. Oh, and an mht file on the desktop.
I’ve downloaded the ProPlus2019Retail.img file from the link here. I’ve installed Office using Office\Setup64.exe and then I’ve tried both methods, I then opened it and it asks me for a license key, and when I give it the key it says that “this key is for volume licensing” (the error is longer). BTW this exact procedure did work on my old laptop, just with method 2. BTW I’ve added the correct exceptions and my antivirus doesn’t seem to react anyhow to the manual step-by-step procedure.
By the way, have your new computer windows 10 pro activate?

I previously had Office 2016 installed, and I purchased the software and a production key off of ebay and it worked great for two years. Recently, the software told me that I had an unregistered version and need to enter a production key. It started with I had 4 days remaining, then 3 days… Then, I found this site. The software also send it was not activated, even know it said it was for two years.
Does MS catch on after a while and with an update disable your software?

How do I prevent MS from disabling and expiring 2019 on my computer in the future, like I assume they did with 2016 I had successfully registered?
One last question, will 2019 expire? Because when I view my computer and hardware/software details with Belarc Advisor it lists that 2019 will expire on 30/12/2020. Why is this?

After running the last command from method1 ,I am getting error
First method works well.
Batch cmd file is detected n deleted as virus by microsoft.
I used copy paste of the commands given in the guide and that avoids any error. Every syntax is critical

I follow your instruction and scanning done successfully, there is no any window 10 error shown as you mention, I restart the PC and tried, still it is showing the same error code
As you instructed there is no Comment Prompt (Admin) in Win key + X (I choose comment prompt from start menu and Run as admin)

I downloading and installing again, still not working
But I noticed something in my PC on the office activation area it is showing as “This product is unlicensed. Connect to your corporate network or contact your system administrator for further assistance.” which is different from the screen shot you shared. please help to resolve this.

I just installed Office and although I tried to force updating, Office shows it is updated with the latest updates. However the version is still the 1908, which is a couple of years old. What does this mean? Does this mean I will get updates when I get them and not when forcing them, or does this mean I will be stuck with the 1908 version?

Hello, I installed the program from the link you have provided, but on the first commant in cmd it can’t find the path. I tried both ways. My office is installed in Local Disk C – Program Files – Microsoft Office 15
Edit: It was my mistake, the second code worked for me after I tried again, and now I am with activated Office 2019. Thank you a lot!
